Community initiatives

A core focus of Anchorage is to provide a safe, secure and welcoming living environment. Once residents are settled in, several community initiatives and programs designed to assist and bring residents together, and build a strong community spirit, will be offered.

This includes both the Spekboom Challenge and hosting a local Soup kitchen.

The Spekboom Challenge

In our resident community Spekboom challenge, each child will be given their own spekboom. They’ll be shown how to plant it and then choose a name for their own plant. They then get to see the Spekboom grow and flourish under their little watchful eyes.

Aftercare and tutoring services

We want to team up with local charities, in order to provide aftercare service for children with parents at work all day, as well as having a tutor on site that can assist with homework while parents are still at work.

Soup Kitchen

A Soup kitchen will run during the winter months to assist those less fortunate during the cold Cape winters.

These are just a few initiatives our management team is working on. Our aim is to make Anchorage the preferred choice of housing when it comes to the social housing sphere.
